Last month Isa Professional was nice enough to send me a brand new flat iron and I was super excited about it because mine was getting a bit old and is not as versatile as I'd wish it to be.

This one is pretty slim and has rounded edges, which makes it perfect to use to straighten, curl or wave my hair. I've been using it as much as I could in the last month (meaning not as much as I wish I had, but it's the middle of summer and my bathroom gets hot really fast).

I've been loving to wave my hair with this straightener and to make a simple hair twist to take my hair out of my face. Closing it with a pretty hair accessory is always a plus too, this hair clip is from Dollarama.

Writing a hair tutorial without being able to show the steps sound super complicated to me so I'll just link to video tutorials I found on Youtube to create the look. Here and here.

I hope this is giving you a few ideas on hair styling. I'm trying to expand my hairstyles to more than loose or ponytail and this has definitely become my favorite!

Hey! I haven't post anything in a long, long time. But it doesn't mean I haven't been blogging at all! I decided to take some time off at the beginning of the year because I was having a hard time getting things done in time and to be honest I just wasn't enjoying blogging anymore.

But between then and now I actually been blogging a lot, kind of. By taking the pressure of the posting day out of the equation I started enjoying it again and I have lots of stuff planned and posts already written. I also have some special projects I'm working on that will be revealed later this year.

But for now let's just talk about my favorites of the lasts months:

Blanket Scarf
I've been looking for a square blanket scarf for a while but never seem to find any that was not really overpriced. I received this one for Christmas so I'm not exactly sure where it is from but it is just perfect. I absolutely love the colors!

NYX Blending Brush
NYX products used to be kinda hard to come by, but in the last six months I see them more and more in different drugstores. And I won't complain about it. I wanted to try one of their brushes mainly because I never heard about it and wanted something new. I love it. It works well while being inexpensive.

Kat Von D Liner
It's the one eyeliner I kept hearing about and for good reasons. It definitely didn't disappoint me. After buying multiple cheap eyeliner that just didn't work at all I decided to invest a little more and I don't think I'll ever go back.

F.A.B. Cleanser
I tried a small size of this cleanser before and if I'm right it might have made it in a previous favorite post. I tried it again and loved it again. It's the perfect simple, soft cleanser. And it makes my skin super soft after using it too.

TRESsemme Shampoo and Conditioner*
I received this back in February… and a few days after I received another one. I don't really know how or why it happened but now I have shampoo and conditioner for a while. Tresemme's bottle are always super big so I probably won't have to buy anything for at least a year. At least I really like the product. It makes my hair feel really soft and contrary to some other shampoo/conditioner I don't feel like I have a lot of buildups.

Did you try any of these products? I know lots of other blogger got the TRESemme products too. What did you think about it? What other products did you like lately?

When I was a really young kid, I had curly hair. When I started little school, it had changed into straight. This lasted until high school - and the Avril Lavigne era - when I wanted my hair to be pin straight, so I started straighten it every day. Needless to say it's not exactly good.

My hair got drier (that's what I will find out years later when start to actually treat my hair and not just find quick fixes) and it got curlier. Years of dying it crazy colours did not help either.

Fast forward to university (about 10 years) when I started to accept my wavy-curly hair and not to hear style it every day. That is also when I got into blogs and YouTube videos and that is when I started to treat my hair after realizing it was dry - here read moisturizing. That's also when I started to not wash my hair every day because so many youtubers were talking about it. It was a revelation and even more when I started using dry shampoo - dry shampoo changed my life, or at least my hair life.

It stayed wavy-curly for a while after that, until about a year ago. Cutting my hair started itching me. But I was afraid my hair would get crazy curly. At that time I just had a slight wave in it, I thought it was because it was long and heavy. When I finally decided to cut it in early 2015, I was expecting to wake up the next day with all the curls. It did not happen. I was confused.

Since then, my hair are as straight as it will get. Sometimes I wake up with a slight wave. But that only happens when I haven't moisturize my hair properly.

The main things I use - before styling - is a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (I love the Dove nutritive solutions shampoo and conditioner). I did not think it would do much of a difference, you just put it on and rinse it how much can it do? A lot. I usually wash my hair every 3 days. Then I use an oil after getting out of the shower but to be honest I often forget. And when I can be bothered I do a mask.

Have your hair changed texture over time too?

EDIT: Hey! It is my 100th post and I didn't even realized! Let's bring the balloons and trumpets out and have a party!

A few week ago I was offered the opportunity to try the Irresistible Me clip on hair extensions. I never tried hair extension for the purpose of having longer hair(I used to have blue and purple micro-bead extension streaks instead of dying my hair years ago), and I have to say I was quite exited about it. I picked the Silky Touch extensions in medium brown 140kg 18po. The hair color fit almost perfectly my natural hair, they are just a little more warm toned, but you can only see it if you look up closed, and even them it's barely noticeable.

The hair itself looks really good. They are thinner at the ends, which gives them a layered look that I really love.

I had a bit of a hard time blending the hair extension with my own hair, but I think this is mainly due to my haircut and length. Plus I probably didn't choose the right day to try them on and take pictures, because it was hot. And I had a lot of extra hair on, that I was curling, with a hot tool. So maybe I didn't take enough time to style them properly (aka the back of my head was not styled at all), but I think it looks good in the pictures, which is what I wanted for this post.

But I am planning to wear them at a wedding I am going to in November (I am the best man, I'm so exited!). It will be much colder then, so no heat problem. Plus I am planning to let my hair grow until then just to make sure it blends well.

Over all, I am really happy with the way the Irresistible Me hair extensions looks on me. I will me experimenting more before the wedding, but I'll wait for the heat to go away first!

Have you tried hair extensions before?

Hair comb is one of those things that fascinated me when I was a child. I didn't really understand how it worked. Plus Mulan had one in the movie! I had a toy replica of that one, I wonder where it is now...

Now that I'm older and that figured out how it works, I have a couple ones I really like and wear often. But I also had a couple that were just bleh looking. I don't even know were those beige combs come from. So I decided to upgrade them.

What you will need:
Comb
Twine
Scissors

It's quite simple. I started by tying the twine around the tooth of the comb. Once it was secure, I warped the twine a few times between each tooth, until it looked opaque enough. I did the same thing until the end of the comb and tied it to secure the twine.

And there it is, a more fun to wear comb that won't just stay on the back of a drawer.

Is hair comb something your wear? Did Mulan hair comb fascinated you as a kid as much as me?

Hope you liked it and if you would like to follow me on Facebook, I created a page a couple of weeks back.

I won't pretend for this hair related post to be a tutorial, even if, at first, I wished it to be. But there is no step by step and it's just way too easy to need any.

I've been experimenting a lot with my shorter hair over the last couple of months. One thing I found to work well (that never worked on me before) is the over night breads to create beachy hair. I love it!

This is what I started with for this look. The night before, I did two french braids on each side of my head on slightly damp hair and slept on it. In the morning I unbreaded it and add a little sea salt spray.

I added this floral elastic hair band, making sure to hide it on the back of my head and pinned two front pieces of hair back.

The last thing I did, is braiding small pieces of hair around my face, just to give the look a little more finish and details.

This definitely will be one of my go to hair looks for this summer!

Will you wear something like this over the summer? What are the styles that are working best on your hair?

I've seen lots for floral hair accessories lately, and I'm sure you did too. It's been a trend for a couple of years now and, of course, with summer right around the corner, it's more present than ever.

It's the kind of trend I love, but I'm never sure I would really wear it. So I though a DIY was required.

I had a few fake flowers lying around and a bunch of hair clip I would never wear on their own. It ended up being a really simple project.

What you will need:
Fake flowers
Hair clips
Glue
Scissors

I started by cutting the flowers off of the bouquet. Then I applied glue to the hair clip (I used crazy glue, but I think a hot gun glue would work even better) and clued it to the green plastic part for the flower. And then I waited for it to dry.

It's as simple as that. Now it time to play around with those flowery hair clips!

Do you like this floral trend and are you wearing any? I'm always a little self couscous about wearing statements like time, but I think it looks great!
My 5 most used hair products right now

Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out my hair. It was curly a couple of years ago, not it almost is completely straight. I don't know what is up with that. All I know is these products are working for me right now.

Dry shampoo is a staple in my hair care. I definitely don't wash my hair every day. Not only does it keep hair looking fresh, but it also adds volume, which is something I am naturally lacking. Right now I am enjoying the herbal essence one, compared to most dry shampoo I tried in the past, this one does not leave your hair with that white cast.

I was one of these people who though shampoo didn't make much of a difference, but I guess I was just not using the right ones. Since I started using the Dove nutritive solutions shampoo and conditioner, which are moisturizing, I really start to see a difference. My hair looked much smoother and overall more healthy.

Texurizing spray is a recent addition to my hair routine. And it's even better since I chopper half of my hair off. It's a nice way to add grip to the hair and, well, texture. It's that kind of that is not necessary, but always nice to add.

Argan oil is something I've been using for years. I feel like it's the only thing that have been able to keep the frizz at bay, and with good reason, argan oil is amazing. If you haven't read it yet, I have a whole blog post that explain why argan oil is so good for you.

So these are my most used hair products. What are your favorite hair care?

Long time no see. I could say I've been really busy, which would be true, for the end of April at least. But the truth is may passed so fast and I've been a bit lazy and unproductive on creating content. But I packed a lot of my stuff for the move, so that might count as not lazy and kind of productive, right? But in the end it doesn't change the fact that I haven't updated the blog for quite a long time.

But I'm definitely back. I shot pictures for six post this last weekend. So these are coming up in the next weeks. And I want to have a couple articles in my pocket for when I will be moving (end of June or beginning of July, we still don't really know yet) because then I will really be busy.

But enough rambling, let's get into this months favorites!

My first favorite is Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo Body Envy Instant Clean.... And it ended up not being one after all. I took the pictures for this about a week ago, and it ran out since then. It really was good, I thought I found a really good dry shampoo and I was extremely happy about it. But the thing is: it lasted me about two weeks. Yes, it was cheap, but I'm still expecting it to last at least a month, no? I don't know if it's just my bottle, because even if nothing is coming out of it anymore, I still seams like there is lots of product still in the bottle. I might buy it again just to see if it was just a defect on this one bottle, I'll keep you updated on this...

The second product I've been using a lot this past month is the BodyShop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz. It basically is a very refreshing toner. And I want this on my face at any moment, it just feels so good. It smells of citrus and... I don't have much else to say about it. Just that it feels SO good on my skin.

Yet an other BodyShop product. I just been loving this shop lately. And I wanted a kabuki for the longest time. I use this mainly for blush (as you can see, since it is dirty, again), it makes applying it so easy. With one brush stroke I have the perfect amount of blush on my cheek.

This is an Almay eyeshadow trio (can't find the name on it) but I remember this specific one being for brown eyes. When I first bought it I really didn't liked it, but I tried it again at the beginning of the month and I used it all month long. I really like the brown color on the middle, it looks nice on the crease. The lightest color I would describe as a pretty champain color, nothing crazy. For the pink color, it really depends on the day, sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't.

Next, this really pretty coral blush from Revlon in 010 Classy Coral. I think it is just the perfect color for spring. It just caught my eyes at the store and I had to buy it.

L'Oréal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer. This is so good. It really is light infusing. I feel like when I use this primer I don't even need to use highlighter. Even if it's all over my skin, it seems to just highlight in the right places.

I feel like I heard of this Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer  everywhere for the last months. Have you? And I just have to agree with everyone, it is good. But I think this shade might be just a little too dark for me to use as a under-eye concealer but it fits my skin perfectly so it is perfect for any redness on my face.

My most recent purchase.  L'Oréal Color Infallible in 012 Endless Chocolate. First of all, if it say chocolate on it, I'm all in! It actually is a really nice dark brown color and I loved using it for the last weeks.

And that is all. What have been your favorites products this month? Anything you loved ended up being disappointing? Any new finds?
