Gendots : Riversol Skincare Review

A few months ago I've been sent a set of skincare by Riversol, a Canadian company from Vancouver. I was impresed by how much product I got, but couldn't proceed to try them out, as I was already testing other skincare. It had taken me time, but I've finally got around to it.

The Riversol skincare range is made with Beta-T (Beta-Thujaplicin), which is derived from red cedar from the Pacific Northwest. Beta-T benefits include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-pigmentation proprieties.

So here's what I thought of the products:

Riversol Foaming Gel Cleanser
$29 available at riversol.com
This cleanser has a very strong cedar smell. Like, really strong at first, but then I got use to it. It says foaming gel and yes it is a gel, but to me it wasn't foaming at all. My skin doesn't seem to react badly to it and as long as I use something more targeted to deep pore cleansing or a scrub a few times a week my black heads don't go out of control. I did notice that my skin gets less red when using it.

Riversol Anti-Redness Serum
$69 available at riversol.com
It is very liquidy when first applied and adhere and sinks into the skin fast. The smell is a lot milder than the cleanser. Actually, I could barely smell anything. I feel like whatever I put on top of this will somehow work faster.

Riversol Daily Moisturizing Lotion
$49 available at riversol.com
It goes on somewhat mat and is not geasy at all. In combination with the serum it looks really good underneath make up. However, it is not moisturizing enough for my highly dehydrated skin to use on a daily basis. But if I want my make up to look extra good, this is the combo I would use, as long as it's not every day.

Overall, I think these Riversol products are good, even if it's not moisturizing enough for my really dehydrated skin. I'm sure it would be perfect for someone with normal skin.

I've been so tired this last week. I feel like I had appointment on top of appointment for the last months and I just want it to stop so I can have some time to relax.

I had to take Astrid, my cat, to the vet because she needed to have a tooth removed. Even if it wasn't as much of a big deal as Augustus, my other cat, surgery last year, I was still worried, but everything went fine.

So, yeah, I needed an evening to myself to relax.

BVSpas Sugar Scrub in Grapefruit
This felt so good on my skin. It scrubs really well, but yet is not too abrasive. The smell is amazing and really fresh which makes it perfect for those hot summer days. My skin now feels really smooth and it didn't dried it out. It is made with Safflower Seed Oil, Olive Oil and Jojoba Oil, so this is obviously why my skin feels so good!

The BodyShop Warming Mineal Mask
I bought this one recently and I am really happy with it. It smells good. The fact that it is heating really makes me feel like it actually works at cleaning my pores.

BVSpas Body Butter in Grapefruit*
It is thick, moisturizing and smells amazing. It is basically all I want from a body butter. With ingredients like Cocoa Seed Butter, Shea Butter and Sunflower Oil, its moisturizing capabilities, to me, compares to the body shop body butters, which I think is amazing.

Bath&Body Works Candle in Watermelon Lemonade
What is a long bath without burning a candles? I especially love this one. It smells like watermelon bubble gum and takes me back to my childhood.

InténsivEyes Cucumber Under-Eyes Pad
I love these eye sheet mask. It feels fresh and let my under eye feel really soft.

I feel much better now and I am ready to start this new week and be as productive as I can be.

I've been seeing Epiderma's publicity for years, so when they contacted me, I was really excited to try their products! To be honest, I didn't even know they were doing skincare, I thought it was only on site treatments. But I was wrong. And I'm happy I was because contrary to lots of skincare I try I did see results!

Here are the two products I tested for a period of approximately a month.

BIO Moisturizing Creme
Reatails at $52

This day cream as a really thick and dense consistency, but yet goes on without leaving any greasy residue on the skin. It also has FPS 30, which is always a plus. Before I started to use this Epiderma moisturizer my skin was super dry, but now, even if using harsher cleanser, I cannot feel any dry patches. At all. Actually my face it probably the only part of my body that isn't dry as hell.

BIO Night Creme
Retails at $45
One thing I always struggle with is blackhead. Especially on my nose. I can manage what's on my cheeks, chin and forehead, but my nose always seem to be out of control. Well, that was the case over a month ago before I started using this Epiderma night cream. I still have large pores and nasty blackheads, but I can definitely say that they appear way smaller than they use to. That makes me so happy to say! Regarding the night cream itself, a little goes a long way with it and it will probably last forever. If I apply too much I can't blend all of it in and end up with a white face, but it's so worth it.

I didn't even realize how amazing these products were before writing this review. You know, when things are just going so well you don't even stop to think about it.

I might even make a statement and say I will probably purchase these two products when they run out. And coming from me it means a lot.

I tried lots of samples lately so I thought it might be a good idea to round them up to talk about some of them.

Gosling's Chop Saver*
I received three of these a while back. I used two and kept the last one to be able to take pictures if I needed to. Then life took over and I took a blogging break for a couple of months. So this post was the perfect place for it. The product itself feels good on the lips. It is a thick texture and stays a long time on. If I apply it at night I can still kinda feel it the next morning which says a lot for me. It's moisturizing and over all a good lip balm.

Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water
I do not like this. I try to remove my eye makeup and it doesn't look like I'm removing anything. Every time I feel like I need to go back with coconut oil to take all the makeup off.

Wojo Energy, Focus & Calm*
Like the lip balm, I received this a while back. I really didn't know what I would think of this but I end up loving it! I mainly used the energy ones but it had really been a life saver. For some reasons at the beginning of January I had no energy at all. I spent new year sleeping on the couch. But I had to go back to work on Monday and I was still as tired. So I started using it at work and it really, really made a difference. I can't drink coffee because I'm “allergic” to caffeine. This product has some caffeine in it but not enough for me to feel bad. I could still feel that deep down I was tired but I was able to get through my day without falling asleep on my desk (which I definitely did when not using this). What's in it you may ask? Mainly vitamins and plant extracts. How does it work? It's liquid you add to more liquid. It as a vitamin pill taste to it, kinda powdery but it's so worth it.

What new product, sample or not, did you try lately?

Hey! I haven't post anything in a long, long time. But it doesn't mean I haven't been blogging at all! I decided to take some time off at the beginning of the year because I was having a hard time getting things done in time and to be honest I just wasn't enjoying blogging anymore.

But between then and now I actually been blogging a lot, kind of. By taking the pressure of the posting day out of the equation I started enjoying it again and I have lots of stuff planned and posts already written. I also have some special projects I'm working on that will be revealed later this year.

But for now let's just talk about my favorites of the lasts months:

Blanket Scarf
I've been looking for a square blanket scarf for a while but never seem to find any that was not really overpriced. I received this one for Christmas so I'm not exactly sure where it is from but it is just perfect. I absolutely love the colors!

NYX Blending Brush
NYX products used to be kinda hard to come by, but in the last six months I see them more and more in different drugstores. And I won't complain about it. I wanted to try one of their brushes mainly because I never heard about it and wanted something new. I love it. It works well while being inexpensive.

Kat Von D Liner
It's the one eyeliner I kept hearing about and for good reasons. It definitely didn't disappoint me. After buying multiple cheap eyeliner that just didn't work at all I decided to invest a little more and I don't think I'll ever go back.

F.A.B. Cleanser
I tried a small size of this cleanser before and if I'm right it might have made it in a previous favorite post. I tried it again and loved it again. It's the perfect simple, soft cleanser. And it makes my skin super soft after using it too.

TRESsemme Shampoo and Conditioner*
I received this back in February… and a few days after I received another one. I don't really know how or why it happened but now I have shampoo and conditioner for a while. Tresemme's bottle are always super big so I probably won't have to buy anything for at least a year. At least I really like the product. It makes my hair feel really soft and contrary to some other shampoo/conditioner I don't feel like I have a lot of buildups.

Did you try any of these products? I know lots of other blogger got the TRESemme products too. What did you think about it? What other products did you like lately?

I haven't done one of these in over a year and my skincare routine has change since then. New kind of products have been introduced in my routine, facial oils being the main one. It seems like an odd time to talk about skincare, because in the last week my skin has been acting up. But I know the problem the heat and not my skincare routine.

Of course, on days I wear make up, I would start with a make up remover. But at the moment, I stay home most days, so I tend go on my day with a bare face.

01. Cleanser
Right now, I have mainly using the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser. I started to cleanse my face only at night and I have seen a big improvement in my skin, as it is not as dry anymore. In the morning, I only use toner. Also, with my cleanser, I use a facial brush a couple times a week. This one is the Olay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid!, it is the only facial brush I used, but I think it is a good entry level brush, being around $15, compared to something like an over $100 Clarasonic.

02. Essence
I tried this Moisture White Shiso Moisturizing Essence from The Body Shop a few months back and I absolutely love it. I never tried another essence though, but what I like about it is that it gets rid of dead skin.

03. Facial oil
I have strong feelings about facial oils. I love them. I posted about my favorites face oils in the beginning of the year, the Tarte Maracuja Oil was not part of these back them, but lately it is the one I have been using the most in the mornings. On nights, I am using BioOil, since my skin is not doing so good at the moment.

04. Moisturizer / SPF
This is the last step in my everyday skincare routine. Right now I am using The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer Lotion SPF 30.

I also use facial mask from time to time. But not enough, I will have to work on this.

What are your basic skincare routine steps?

I tried : Evoderma Noome

I was so exited when I received an E-mail from Evoderma, telling me they wanted me to review their Noome device. It's the first I've been send anything to review on the blog. Needless to say it felt like hitting a big blogging milestone!

Noome is meant to help with aging skin. But they talk about it better than I do, so just let me quote what I think are the most important specifications of this device :
Stimulates skin cell renewal to smooth fine lines and wrinkles
Increases natural production of collagen and elastin
Soothes facial strain to attenuate expression lines
Brightens complexion for a youthful glow
Improves the efficiency of any anti-aging skin care regimen

I'm only 25, so I don't have lots of aging sings showing on my skin. There is a few little fine lines around my eyes, but they say not to use Noome on fine skin, so I'm not taking chances on my eye area!

Therefore, I can't really review it in depth. But the one thing I can say, though, is this is perfect for a pamper evening, when you want to relax, this is perfect! The first time I used it, I couldn't believe how relax my face felt.

I don't think I will be using it every day. But I will definitely once or twice a week, to relax and to prevent aging skin at the same time.

The Noome retail for $89, but if you are interested, the people at Evoderma gave me a code for you to use, so you can have it for $35, shipping included. You can enter the code GENE on the Evoderma Website.

Hope you liked it and I'll see you on Sunday with a new post!

And happy Canada day to any fellow Canadian out there!

I kinda got this on a whim. It was the buy 3 get 3 free sell at the Body Shop and I never tried any essence before, so curiosity got the best of me. Plus, I knew it would end up being free anyway, because of the sale. I assume it is a fairly new product, as there are no reviews at all on the Body Shop website. And I haven't head of it at all on blogs or anywhere else.

It says it's for oily to normal skin. Even if my skin can get a little oily on the T-zone during the day, it is mostly dry. But it also says that it gets rid of dead skin, and that I have plenty of.

For a few months, my foundations didn't really sit well on my skin. Even the ones meant for dry skin. Once applied, I could see it settling into all the dry skin. I tried to exfoliate, of course, but it was still not looking great. (Except when I used a beauty sponge) I was at the point where I would not wear foundation anymore...

Well, these days are over.

What I would do is wash my face, then apply the essence(they say to do it with a cotton wool, but I find it works better just with my hands). Rub it in a little, then once it was kinda dry, I would apply my face oil. The thing I noticed is this : as I rubbed the oil on my skin, I felt little particles under my finger. At first I though it was leftovers my exfoliating cleanser, but the next day I used another cleanser, without a scrub, and the same thing happened. The particles were dead skin falling off my face. I don't know if it is supposed to do this, but I love it!

The essence, I guess, is dissolving the dead skin. And then I tried my foundation again, applied with a brush. It looked great! No more highlighting dry skin and no more settling into lines, I was left with a good looking foundation!

This is definitely something that will stay in my skincare routine for a long time!

Have you heard of the Moisture White range? Have you tried any essence before?

Lately I've been struggling to find good blog post ideas. I don't really have products to review. I don't go out much. I'd like to make outfits post from time to time, but I struggle to take good pictures. I'm trying some DIY, but it doesn't really ends up like I wanted.

I had an event last week (a portfolio review thing that made me incredibly nervous, but ended up not stressful at all. As it always is when I'm nervous for something). The night before, I was thinking that I will use this product, and this product and why not make a blog post about it?

I started the night before by using The Origins Drink Up, a nice moisturizing mask, to make sure my skin was plump and hydrated when it was time to put make up on.

In the morning, I started by using an exfoliant, the Body Shop chocomania body scrub, very lightly, to make sure I had no dead skin that would be noticeable after applying makeup. It is not made to be use on the face, but it's what I had on hand.

Then I used the Caudalie Divine Oil. I've talked about it in my 5 facial oils post. The scent of this product is so luxurious, so this is always what I use on a special day (or not so special day). It adds hydration, without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin. I only have the sample size, but when I run out I will definitely buy the full size, from what I understand, it comes in a spray - I'm all about that.

I ended my skincare with the Body Shop Aloe Soothing Gel to refresh my skin, and to help it heals (I had a couple of breakouts). It really feels good to apply this one on a hot day, because the gel formula makes it really refreshing.

After that, I applied my make up. It really was quite basic, so I didn't include it in this post.

What products do you use to make sure you skin in on perfect condition?
Learn exactly why argan oil is good for your skin

We hear a lot of things when it comes to skincare. Use this, not that. There is a lot of products on the market and lots of terms we see everywhere. But do we really know why x product is good, or not?

I love to use argan oil. But I didn't really know what it was made of, or why it was marketed as good. So I though I would do some researches, and here is what I found. It might be things some of you already know, but I am pretty sure most of you, just like me, was not aware of some things that I found.

First of all, let's do a little background : Argan oil comes from the kernels of the fruit of the argan tree. This tree can be found in Morocco and some parts of western Algeria. In this region, they use it as a cooking oil. It also been used for centuries as a cosmetic oil by Berber woman.

Today, the majority of argan oil production comes from women's co-operatives. I don't know much about it, but I think it's great, so I'm just putting that out there.

Okay, now why exactly is argan oil good for you? There is a number of element in argan oil that makes it a good choose for a moisturizer. But just before I start, let me just do a little disclaimer: I noted down things that made sense to me as for why these elements are good. I stumbled upon a couple scientific articles I didn't fully understand all the therms of, so I let all the cellular density, trans isoprenoid, 3-hydroxy-3-methyglutharyl-CoA and the such to make a more comprehensive, day to day guide. Also, I may say it is good for the skin, but it actually also good for hair or nails. But otherwise it was unnecessary long.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is said to be one of the best antioxidant out there.
It is protects the skin against UV rays.
It is also good for dry skin because it helps keep its natural moisture.
It is known to neutralize free radicals (causing aging, cancer and other diseases)

Omega-9 and omega-6

Omega 9 & 6 are fatty acids with preventive qualities.
It's an anti-inflammatory and also helps with hormonal balance.
It keeps skin healthy and with firmness, elasticity.
It also helps reduce the depth of wrinkle.

Squalene (omega-2)

It's a natural moisturizer that rapidly sinks in the skin and doesn't leave any greasy feeling.
It is a powerful anti-oxidant and helps generate oxygen.
It stimulates the immune system and blood circulation.

Sterols

It boots the skin moisture and strengthen the skin barrier.
It is anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic and anti-allergic.

Polyphenols

It makes vitamin C more effective.
It helps fight against free radicals and UV rays.
It boosts blood circulation and the production of collagen.

There is so much good things in argan oil! It has so much more proprieties than I thought it had when I started to write this post.
It has been really interesting for me to do some researches on argan oil. I hope it was interesting for you to read it!

Let me know your thought on argan oil!

Beauty is you link party
Fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog link party
A little R & R link party
Recent haul : Yes to tomatoes, Rimmel provocalips & scandaleyes.

It was payday.

I haven't shop anything but groceries for over a month.

I felt the need to buy stuff.

Actually, I didn't spend that much. I got these three products at the drugstore and then bought two shirts in another store.

Yes to Tomatoes clear skin oil control cleanser : I heard a lot about the Yes to… ranges. I tried the Yes to Cucumber face wipes before, it was nice, and smelled good. I think I remember someone talk about the tomato range, but I'm not sure who, when or if it really happened. I won't lie, it was an impulse buy. I haven't made any researches on this, but it was quite cheap (8$CAN) so why not?

Rimmel London Provocalips in play with fire : I heard Amelia Lilianna talk about this a couple of months ago and I knew I had to try it. I searched for it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. All drugstore I went to had a very limited amount of Rimmel products. But that day I had to go to a specific area where I don't usually go. And there was a drugstore, so, of course, I had to go in, and there it was, finally.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes in nude : I hear great things about these. And I didn't own any flesh tone eyeliner. Plus it was in sale. A match made in heaven if you ask for my opinion.

The clothing I bough I don't have any picture of, which make me think that I should really find a way to take fashion-ish photos. I got a black kimono with white flowers pattern and a shirt that didn't fit me and that I will soon exchange for something else.

It really felt therapeutic to get a couple of things for myself.

What do you get yourself when you feel the need to shop?

Pamper routine : Maybeline gold nails bath and body works candle teavana tea

Right now I am between two jobs, witch gives me lots of free time. I had many stay-at-home days in the last few weeks (maybe too many, I have no social life at all right now) but I still wake up quite early. And if there is something I like to do in the morning when I have nowhere to be, is take my time and pamper myself. I think I actually like to pamper in the morning more than at night.

This is what I'm up to on a typical pamper morning. (That's not every morning, just to be clear. I still have other things to do on most days.)

I wake up around 7h30, often from this natural alarm called “the cats want food”. So this is usually the first thing I do in the morning. Then I sit on the couch and read for a while. Right now I am reading the second book in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I remember my parents reading this way back in the days (the book was first publish in 1992) and as the TV series based on the book as began this fall I though it was about time I read it. Here is a link to both the books and the TV series, if you are interested.

I usually read until I'm hungry. What I eat depend mainly on the content of our kitchen. We are always out of either bread or cereal, or both. As I write this, we have this wonderful maple bread my boyfriend got the other day, it's so, so good. If I'm alone I will just eat a toast, if I make breakfast for two, I might do some french toast with this bread or pancake. I will usually make some tea to go with the breakfast, because I am a tea addict.

Pamper routine living proof body shop

Then it's time for a long and hot shower. I wish I had a nice bath, but it's not the case, so a shower as to do. To make it extra special, I might use a handmade soap my boyfriend got me a while back in a local market. But first, let me get some Living Proof restore mask treatment on my hair to make it extra smooth.

Once I'm done with my regular skincare, I will use a face mask, today it's the Body Shop honey and oat face mask.

Let's put some comfy cloths on, light the mint mocha bark candle from Bath and Body Works and make myself an other tea. Then I make my nails looking good with a brand new manicure and it's time to watch the latest Pretty little liar episode.

That is what I am up to at least one morning a week at the moment.

I'd love to know what you are up to on your day off. Do you pamper at all? What is your special product or activity for a good pamper morning or evening? Let me know!

Boscia detoxifying black cleanser

I got the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser about a week or two ago. I was all out of cleanser and couldn't wait for the Sephora package to arrive to my door.

My first though on it is that, to me, it smells a little like weed. Or, to make a flashback to my teenage years, it smells like the entrance to my high school (there was always a bunch of stoners at the front doors). But it's not over powering, and so, does not really bother me at all. I just find it kindda weird.

I heard a lot about Boscia on different blogs. And I also heard a lot about activated charcoal being good for the skin. So I decided to give it a go. From what I could read, the actives ingredients include : Activated Charcoal, Artichoke Leaf Extract, Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside), Vitamin P (Alpha Glucosyl Hesperidin) and Licorice Root. What sold me on this is that it claims to reduce the appearance of pore and detoxifies (and more, but that's what I was looking for). You can read more about it on their website.

I haven't noticed a big difference in the size of my pores, but I think this could take a little longer that a week and a half to really see the effects of this. But I haven't been breaking out since I started using it, which is a good start! Also, right now I'm only using it at night, as I have another cleanser I use in the morning, but I might start to use it twice a day, so I could see the effects faster.

I'll keep on using it and report back in a future blog post.

Update : I've been using it twice a day for about a week now and I'm really starting to see a difference in my skin. It's over all clearer, the black heads are not as black and my pores are not as large! This is great! I'm so happy I tried this product!

Have you tried any products by Boscia? Or another activated charcoal product? What are your favorites cleansers?
That's a lot of questions.

You can also find me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

I love beauty oils, for hair, body or face. As for face oils, it pretty much completly taken the place of moisturizers.

The two first oils I'll talk about I both got as sample over the holidays. It's Caudalie Divine Oil and the Josie Maran 100% Pure Light Argan Oil. I alternately use both of them the same way. I put them on in the morning after cleansing my face. I've been using them for about a month now and my skin really seams more glowy. The Josie Maran one have no sent whatsoever, as the Caudalie one have a semi-strong sent. I never used any of their other product, but somehow I feel like it's their signature sent (?).

I remember Bio Oil being all the rage back when I started watching YouTube Beauty videos. And for good reasons. It seams to have fallen into oblivion since then. I stumble upon it this summer at the drugstore and remembered how much I used to love it and decided I would give it an other go. I was not disappointed, it cleared my face of unwanted blemishes. Now that the weather is cold, I tend to gravitate more around moisturizing products, but I still use it once in a while when I have problematic skin. Also, it is said to be anti-aging, and since I discovered little wrinkles around my eyes yesterday (why, oh why?!), that is not a bad thing.

I like to use the Evoluderm Huile de Beauté à l'Amande Douce (sweet almond oil) as a night time moisturizer. It's a little more thick in texture than the Josie Maran or Caudalie ones. I apply a thick layer on my face and go to bed, and it really does the trick.

The last oil of the five is no other than tea three oil from the BodyShop. I use it as a spot treatment, of course. But I also used it in the past mixed with either a night time moisturizer.

These are my top 5 face oils. Have you tried any of these before? What is your favorite oil? Leave a comment bellow, I would love the read what you have to say!

For about a month, I had the driest eyelids, with dry patches and redness. And I felt like I had lines I didn't have before, so I though it was time I got myself a proper eye cream.

I browsed the Sephora website and ended up choosing this F.A.B. dual repair eye cream. I only tried one First Aid Beauty product before, but wasreally impressed with it. And it was around boxing day, so there was lots of sales and I ended up with a few extra things also.

But back to the point, after only 5 days using this, my extra dry lids were 100% back to normal. And the skin all around my eyes us really really soft.

This is definitely a new favorite of mine!

I used the Vichy Normaderm line for such a long time. I think I first tried it when I was about 15, so ten years ago. It really did wonders for my skin! I don't really use the line daily anymore because my skin doesn't have the same needs now, but I definitely need a good clean once a week to keep it all nice. And for that matter I use the Vichy mask and it really is good!

I always loved chocolate with a passion. Even if I'm more of a salty than sweet kind of person, it definitely has a good place on my favorites food/treats list. I don't eat lots of desert nowadays, but a piece of dark chocolate always ends nicely a meal.

And sometimes, just having something cocoa-scented to smell fills up my chocolate obsession. So here are some of my favorite decadent smelling product that I like to use.

David's Tea in mint chocolat rooibos
First of all, I have this David's Tea choco-mint tea. It really feels like a treat because it's chocolate flavored, but it's still fresh because the mint.

La Sanza chocolate candle
This is a really old candle. I think I was in highschool when I got it, which means it was at least 8 years ago. It was from La Sanza, and of course it is not on sale anymore. I actually just started to burn it this year, which I know sounds weird. I was just not into burning candle back then, I guess.

Lindt passion orange & pistachio
I am usually a dark chocolate lover, but even if this one is milk, this hint of orange was a nice touch.

The Body Shop Chocomania line
Is a body moisturizer more loved than the Body Shop ones? I know it is the one product I can really feel the moisture lasting an entire day. Last winter I got that valentine day kit. It was chocolate and on sale, how to resist that. The kit also included a lip balm and a srub that is also really nice.

Do you love chocolate as much as I do? Leave a comment if you think there is any other chocolaty things I should try!

About a year ago, I started having dry lips. At first it was not something I was worried about since I always had a tendency to dry lip (and skin, and hair, and eyes, and mouth...). It also was the beginning of the colder months, which always get things to the dryer side anyway.

But after a while, I noticed the dryness just wasn't going away, no matter how much lipbalm I was putting on it. If I remember correctly, at the time I was mostly using EOS lipbalm and Polyspirin daily lip protectant, that worked really well a couple of years back.

But still nothing was making it better. After awhile I decided to exfoliate the hell out of my lips, thinking it would take the dead skin off and be good afterward. That ended up being a bad mistake. I just hurt my skin, that already was in a fragile state.

I recently realised that I never spend the 50% off on one product I got when I subscribed to the BodyShop card. I had the firm intention of only buying one thing. But you know how it is… I got there and there was a third item for free when you bought 2, so there began the spending…

I ended up with more than I expected.

So... It's been a while. It's been a little bit of a crazy month, with the move and everything. But that is no excuse, I honestly just lost habit of blogging. And I've been lazy, most of all.

But let's start fresh with a new month!

I only have three favorites this month and the first is this First Aid Beauty face cleanser. The second is tea tree oil. My skin was really bad at the beginning of the month, and I started to use these two products and it really made a difference. Was it the first or the second one that really made the difference? I don't really know, but I think it was a mix of the two.

Earlier in july, my old and cheap eyeshadow blending brush broke and I needed a new one. I ended up in Sephora (it was actually my first time at Sephora. I heard good things about their brushes, so I bought the Blending eye shadow one (#71) and I am not disappointed.

Some other random favorites :  President's choice water in peach mist flavor, it literally tastes like peach, not fake peach. Dumpling. My new neighborhood. Montréal, which is the city I moved to.

That is all for this month. That was a very short post.
