Hey! I haven't post anything in a long, long time. But it doesn't mean I haven't been blogging at all! I decided to take some time off at the beginning of the year because I was having a hard time getting things done in time and to be honest I just wasn't enjoying blogging anymore.

But between then and now I actually been blogging a lot, kind of. By taking the pressure of the posting day out of the equation I started enjoying it again and I have lots of stuff planned and posts already written. I also have some special projects I'm working on that will be revealed later this year.

But for now let's just talk about my favorites of the lasts months:

Blanket Scarf
I've been looking for a square blanket scarf for a while but never seem to find any that was not really overpriced. I received this one for Christmas so I'm not exactly sure where it is from but it is just perfect. I absolutely love the colors!

NYX Blending Brush
NYX products used to be kinda hard to come by, but in the last six months I see them more and more in different drugstores. And I won't complain about it. I wanted to try one of their brushes mainly because I never heard about it and wanted something new. I love it. It works well while being inexpensive.

Kat Von D Liner
It's the one eyeliner I kept hearing about and for good reasons. It definitely didn't disappoint me. After buying multiple cheap eyeliner that just didn't work at all I decided to invest a little more and I don't think I'll ever go back.

F.A.B. Cleanser
I tried a small size of this cleanser before and if I'm right it might have made it in a previous favorite post. I tried it again and loved it again. It's the perfect simple, soft cleanser. And it makes my skin super soft after using it too.

TRESsemme Shampoo and Conditioner*
I received this back in February… and a few days after I received another one. I don't really know how or why it happened but now I have shampoo and conditioner for a while. Tresemme's bottle are always super big so I probably won't have to buy anything for at least a year. At least I really like the product. It makes my hair feel really soft and contrary to some other shampoo/conditioner I don't feel like I have a lot of buildups.

Did you try any of these products? I know lots of other blogger got the TRESemme products too. What did you think about it? What other products did you like lately?

I tried a number of new product lately and I thought it would be interesting to talk about it. This isn't exactly a first impression, but it isn't an in depth review either. It's somewhere in the middle.

AmorePacific Cushion Compact Foundation* in 102 Light (pink)
I still don't know what to think of this foundation. When I first apply it, it looks gorgeous. But as the day goes by, it seems to settle in dry skin. But the day that I took this picture, it didn't do that and looked good until I took it off. As I just wore make up for the sake of the picture, I didn't do my whole routine before it and applied it to bare skin. So I'm thinking maybe it interferes with another product I'm using underneath. I'll have to keep playing around with it to see what I'm doing wrong for it to look bad just on some days. Other than that, I love the whole cushion thing, it makes application so easy.

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso
I have a love hate relationship with this product. Over all, I really like it but the wand is way too big and I often end up with gel outside of my brows that I have to clean up. I think if they would make it just a little bit smaller it would be a really great product.

Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick* in Iris
This one I just don't like. It is a really nice shade, but it doesn't go on even at all. At first I though it was just because my lips were dry, but then I did my whole lip care routine (LINK), ended up with really soft lips and it still was patchy. A few days ago, I tried to apply just a tin layer with a lip brush and it looked nice, like a berry tint. But I'm sad that I can't use it as a full on dark lipstick.

Have you tried any if these products? What were your thoughts?
Gendots - Fall Picks - Revlon Gel Envy, Nyx butter lipstick, L'oreal Infalloble, Tarte.

As I am doing every seasons now, today I am sharing my make up picks for Fall. For me, it rhymes with dark berry lips and even darker burgundy nails and if there is one reason I am exited for fall is the makeup and fashion. Certainly not the promise of winter weather to come...

A dark nail polish
To me, nothing in the beauty realm screams more fall than a deep berry or burgundy shade of nail polish. Here I have Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy in the shade Queen of Hearts. I also talked about it in my September favourites last week.

A neutral nail polish
Another essential of my nails in the fall is a colour neutral polish. It could be a nude, but I seem to gravitate more toward greys in this time of the year. Right now on my nails I have Sally Hansen 404 Greige.

A dark lip
Dark lipsticks are also a fall staple for a lot of people. I won't lie, I don't wear it that much on a daily basis but I still absolutely love it and definitely rock it on weekends. Here I have L'Oreal Infallible Lipstick Persistent Plum 737 which is a really deep and opaque one. I also have NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk (which I just rediscovered after thinking I lost it last winter) it is definitely more sheer than the L'Oreal one and is not as dark as it seems in the tube but is still a gorgeous colour.

A barely there blush
My last fall pick is a basic and neutral blush that won't steal the show to that berry lip. Here I have one from last year Tarte Christmas set.

That were my fall picks. What are your staples for the season?
Guest post from Vancouver Eyeshadow Addict: How to wear a smoky plum eye

A purple smoky eye by Vancouver Eyeshadow Addict featuring Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk, MAC Brazenly, and more.

Purple can be a scary eyeshadow shade. If you’re not careful, you can look like you’ve given yourself a black eye—not so cute! But take heart: The addict is here to help.

For years, before I branched out in the makeup world, purple was the only eyeshadow shade I wore. I figured because I had green eyes, it was the only colour I could wear. (Pish. I’ve since mended my ways.) Take it from someone who has tried purple every which way—with a few little tricks up your brush roll, you can totally pull off purple (or plum).

Here are my tips for rocking a purple/plum smoky eye:

1) Start with a plummy base.

When I wear a purple smoky eye, I want it to go bam. Go big or go home! To make the colour more vibrant, help the shadow last, and give the shade more dimension, I recommend starting with a base of cream shadow. In the look above, I started with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk, washing it all over the lid and into my crease with my finger.

2) Go for some depth.

Rather than make your entire look the same colour, use a deeper shade in the crease so that your mobile lid stands out. This will help sculpt your eye and avoid the “black eye” look. In the look above, I blended MAC Brazenly into the crease and outer corner.

3) Warm things up above the crease.

Rather than keeping your look completely cool, take a warm brown and blend it into the upper crease for some balance. “Cutting off” the cool tones like this will help ensure your purple shadow doesn’t look like a bruise. In the look above, I used a mix of Bobbi Brown Naked and Woodrose. They’re from a limited-edition palette, but not to worry—any warm browns will do.

4) Bring the look onto your lower lashline.

I know wearing colour on your lower lashline can be scary—if you go overboard, you can look tired. But if you do it well, wrapping your shadow all the way around the eye adds balance. If you’re afraid of blending shadow on your lower lashline, try a smudgy pencil instead. Baby steps! In the look above, I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Color Chameleon in Amber Haze.

5) Use eyeliner and lots of mascara.

To keep the “black eye” look at bay, you need to bring your lashes forward. The first thing people should see should be your lashes—not your eyeshadow. Make sense? Adding black eyeliner and lots of black mascara will add the contrast and separation you need. Remember: with a bold colour like plum or purple, more mascara is more!

Gendots - A week away in my make up bag with l'Oreal, Marcelle, Josie Maran, essence, Maybeline, BECCA, Rimmel, Covergirl, the Body Shop, Lise Watier and Anastasia

The title of this post is misleading. It sounds like I'm going on holiday. I wish I was! But it's not the case at all.

We have to leave our apartment for a week or two because the bathroom is having a make over. So obviously, without the bathroom commodities, we can't stay.

We are staying at my boyfriend uncle for the week, which is just half an hour away if I'm taking the bus.

I have to come back to our apartment every day anyway because :
  1. I have to feed the cats
  2. I need a good internet connection

So I didn't need to bring that much make up with me, but still, I managed to fill this bag.

The first step of my make up routine is a primer, so I bring The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Primer. I don't love it, but it's fine and does the job on hot days.

I ended up bringing with me the base I think looks best on my skin, and it is the Lise Watier Teint Lumière in the shade 01. It is a little too light for me right now because I (kinda) tanned, but if I just add more bronzer than usual it looks fine.

For concealer, I just bring my usual duo : Rimmel Wake Me Up for the under eye and BECCA Compact Concealer.

I also bring with me this Marcelle Sun Wave Bronzing Pressed Powder in Heat Wave. It has different shades of bronze in there, the lightest being light enough to be used as a subtle highlight. But I think the main reason I chose this one is because of it's big mirror, meaning I can do my make up anywhere.

Next is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in 10 adorable. It's a perfect everyday shade that works with any look.

I also have a powder, I think it's by l'Oréal, but I can't read he packaging anymore. And let's be honest, with what is left in there, I only use it so I can finally finish it and add it to a future empty post.

For brows I'm going simple with the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It will make doing my brows much faster than the powder I used lately.

To use on the eyes, I have the really basic Maybeline Color Tattoo Leather in 80 creamy beige that will just look more put together than bare eyelid, but still look like I have nothing on. I also have the Essence Gel Eye Pencil in 06 cocoa bean if I want to add more definition. As for mascara, I am bringing a sample of the Josie Maran Black Oil mascara that is almost finished and that I want to use up.

For lips, I have two options. While both are on the subtle side they offer different things (that's my justification for bringing two). First I have the l'Oréal Color Riche Serum in S305 enlightening beige for a nude option. Then for a pop of color, I have the Covergirl LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in 215 2263 (??) it is a sheer coraly-pink that looks good for the summer.

Obviously, I will go home everyday so if I have an event (not that I will have any) where I'd like to wear a red lip, I still have access to my whole collection. But day-to-day, this is what will be on my face for the next two weeks.

I can't wait to have my new bathroom. I have so many DIY organization planned for when it's done. I might also do some sort of pamper post in it. Can you tell I'm happy I will finally be able to take an actual bath!?

What do you bring with you when you are away from home? What are your essential beauty products?

July have been a weird blogging month. My head was not in the game and it definitely showed in my posting schedule. The beginning of August doesn't announce anything better so far, but it might just be my energy draining cold talking. I should be up on my feet in a few days and hopefully so will be the blog.

I haven't done a monthly favorite since July last year, how crazy is that! I used to be my favorite post to write - and still is my favorite to read.

Each month I either felt like I didn't have time to take good pictures, or I just did not have enough favorites to make a whole blog post about it. Anyway, here are my favorites of July.

New favorite lip combo
Too Faced Melted liquified long wearing lipstick in melted peony on top of Sephora nano lips liner in 16 pure pinky. This create the perfect pink mat lip combo. I love the color and it lasts a while.

Birthday
The 21th was my birthday! I love birthdays and gifts, mine or others. This year, the gifts wouldn't stop coming, kinda. I received a lot of things by mail, while most of them were not actually for my birthday, it felt like they were, because of the timing. The weekend before we had a nice dinner out with a couple of friends and on my actual birthday me and my boyfriend had sushi to go. Over all it was a good birthday, even if my parents could not make it.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara
I tried this essence mascara for my Osheaga look with essence post that went up last week. And so far I am loving it. Mascara is one of those things I really don't like to spend a lot on, do finding a good one in a brand so inexpensive is great!

L'Occitane lemon zest hand cream
It was part of my boyfriend birthday present. I never tried anything from l'Occitane before but now I get why everyone seems to like the brand. Not only does it smell great -lemon zest is a really refreshing sent- and the packaging is beautiful, but the products he got me are great. I especially like the hand cream that kept my hand as soft as they can be for all day long.

The Body Shop Brazil Nut Beautifying oil
This. Smells. So. Good. It was part of a gift from my parents and even if it is not a really summery sent compared to the l'Occitane lemon zest product, I just couldn't stop using it. It was love at first smell. It reminds me of cookies, as far as I can remember, because as I write this I have a cold and I can't smell anything. One time I used it and the cat started to lick my arm, so I guess it's a crowd-pleaser.

Gilmore Girls
I started re-watching Gilmore girls the week my boyfriend went back to our hometown. I spent the week alone and I watched a lot of Netflix. That was a month ago and now I am midway through season 6. Call me an addict. I love to see, after about 10 years, how my perception of the story and the character have changed. And even if most of the time I know what is going to happen, I still can't wait to watch another episode.

What have been your favorite this month? I hope to keep it up, and have favorites for the next months too!

Osheaga festival starts in only a few days now. So today I am pairing with essence cosmetic to bring a fun - and inexpensive - look for all you festivalers out there.

I love essence cosmetics, they have great products and are one of the least expensive make up brand out there. And I am all about great deals and saving money. You can find essence cosmetics at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix.

The make up look is quite simple. I started with my usual base and applied the essence blush and bronzer as I would normally do. For the eye, I went for something neutral on top of which I use that gorgeous blue eyeliner, this is clearly what makes the look and adds the fun factor.

For the lips, I decided to go with SPF lip balm only, since my lips can be really sensitive, especially after a day in the sun.

Don't mind my crazy hair, it was way too hot to style it.

Here is the list of the products I used
Primer : The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur 5-Action Perfector
Foundation : L'Oréal True Match Lumi Foundation in N1-2
Under eye concealer : Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Blemishes concealer : Becca Dual Coverage Compact Concealer
Powder : essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder
Brows : Anastasia Brow Wiz in dark Brown
Bronzer : essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 01 Blonde
Blush : essence Silky Touch Blush in 80 Autumn Peach
Eyeshadows : essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows in 07 & Smokey Eyes Sets
Eyeliner : essence Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in 17
Mascara : essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara
Nail polish : essence Colour & Go in 128 Let's Get Lost

I thought I would also include an outfit option I would wear to Osheaga or any music festival.

What I am wearing
Shirt : Smart Set
Shorts : I don't know the actual brand, but I bought them at Winners
Kimono : Smart Set
Necklace : Bizou

I would like to thank everyone at the Canadian Beauty Blogger network for the amazing opportunities like this one. You are doing an amazing job!

What are your festival essentials and your go to look?
Gendots Birthday Makeup Picks : L'Oreal, Josie Maran, Annabelle, Rimmel, Nyx, Revlon, essence, the Body Shop

Yesterday was my birthday. I did not do a lot, I got sushi and cake with my boyfriend. On Sunday I had a late dinner and beer with friends. And that is pretty much the extent of activities I had for my birthday. But that's fine, I never been one to do big parties anyway. I got great gifts from my boyfriend and parents too. A lot of pampering will happen if I want to use all those l'Occitane and BodyShop products.

Of course, I kinda planned my make up ahead and had to do a blog post about it. Because that is what bloggers do, right?

So here are the products I used:

  • The Body Shop All-in-one Instablur
  • L'Oréal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in N1-2
  • Rimmel SunShimmer Maxi Bronzer
  • Annabelle Cosmetics Marie-Mai Multi-Colour Blush
  • Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer
  • NYX Eyeshadow Palette in 10 Colour Mysterious Brown Eyes
  • Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara
  • Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Honey

I have to stop myself from buying all the Maybelline color tattoo out there. Plus they always come out with limited editions. At least I'm not obsessed with a $50 line of product, yet.

I don't have an eye shadow primer, because with this, I don't feel like I need any, especially since I bought the creamy beige, which act as a nice base color.

They don't fade awkwardly.
They don't move around.
They don't settle in the crease.
They're basically all I could ask for, and for a pretty low price point.

So here is my color tattoo collection :

From left to right

25 Bad to the Bronze - probably my most used, definitely my all time favorite.

80 Creamy Beige (Leather effect) - my new favorite, perfect for a matte eye or a minimal look.

20 Painted Purple - an intense blue toned purple. Quite patchy compared to the other colors. This one is a color I only bough because I didn't own it.

35 Though as Taupe - the only matte of the basic collection. Remind me a little of concrete.

200 Mossy Green - a nice dark green, between forest a kaki. Eyelook post link

115 Shimmering Sea - limited edition from a couple of summers back. This one is almost holographic.

From left to right

30 Pomegranate Punk - love the name. A really nice, dark autumn color.

70 Barely Branded - a really nice Champlain color, almost cooled tone in some light. Work as a nice highlight color.

90 Nude Compliment - for me this is a mix of bad to the bronze and though as taupe in the color.

85 Beige-ing Beauty - similar in color to barely branded, but more pink tone and as more glitter.

55 Inked Pink - a nice light ink that adds a flirty feel to the eye

I have 11 and I still fight the urge to buy more every time I pass through a maybelline display. To be honest, I thought it would be worst. I was counting them and thinking to myself it wasn't that much, or is it just me justifying my next purchase?

Do you like the maybeline color tattoo? What is your favorite cream eye shadow?

I hope you enjoyed the post and I would like to invite you to follow me on bloglovin to keep up with the blog!

My birthday is next week, and I've been asked, from my parents and boyfriend, to get them ideas of what I want to receive as a gift. At first I had no idea, then I started searching around and found lots of stuff. I though making some sort of wish list post would be fun. Most of these have been on my wish list for a long time, but I usually don't like to spurge, so I just look at them from afar.

Foundations

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush foundation

COVER FX Custom Cover Drops

Yves Saint Laurent Le teint touche éclat illuminating foundation

I had my make up done a few weeks back, by a Lise Watier make up artist, at my local drugstore. It was $10 paid in advance, but you got a refund when buying a product the day of the event. So obviously, it was more than enough reason for me to spend some money on a new foundation, right?

Plus I wanted to try one of these lightweight formulas that seems to be on trend right now. And it ended up being one of these that she used on me.

I never had my make up done before, and I liked the experience. I'd go back anytime.

But now, to the actual foundation.

It is a really lightweight formula and once it sets, I can barely feel it on my skin. They describe it as “second skin effect”, and it sounds appropriate. It is a really comfortable foundation and even if I though it during the day, I don't feel like it's moving around my face, like some other foundations I tried. Plus it lasts quite a long time. I haven't timed it, but I heard some other blogger saying it was about 7-8 hours, which I don't feel like contradicting.

It is infused with “Diamond Lumière Complex” which is a fancy way to say that it illuminate and reflect light in a nice way. And it has FPS 15, which is always a plus.

The foundation comes in a nice frosted glass bottle that makes it look quite luxurious. It as a dropper that drops the right amount of product to use on your whole face. I usually use two drops, blending the first one, then adding the second one on top to build coverage. It ends up giving a light to medium coverage that evens out the skin, but you can still see some imperfection. This is the kind of coverage I am looking for.

It comes in 8 shades and I have 01, which is the lightest. It is getting too light for me right now, as I'm tanning a little, but it will be perfect back in fall.

Overall, I love this foundation.

Have you tried this Lise Watier foundation?

I got this Argan Illuminizer a while back, in a Josie Maran value set. Since then, I had quite a strong love-hate relationship with it. I guess I haven't found the right way to use it, until now.

The thing is, I liked the formula, but hated the packaging. The pump let way too much product out, and if you haven't used it in a while, what comes out first is drier and thicker than it is supposed to be. Sometimes sample sized product have crappy packaging, but this seems to be full size, as they sell the same quantity on the Website. That being said, I think they changed the packaging since then, which, I have to say, looks way better.

But I started using it by unscrewing the lid and not using the pump, which works like a charm.

The product itself, when used as a regular highlighter, gives a really nice, natural glow to the cheeks (or anywhere) as the shimmers are very fine. It is a golden-champagne color and it blends well on the skin. But it can also be used mixed with foundation or moisturizer, for an all over glow. The fact that it is so versatile makes it an even more interesting product.

Now that I don't have to deal with the pump, I can see myself wearing the Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer a lot more.

Have you tried this product? What is your favorite highlighter?

Summer has already begun and I've been meaning to do some things different makeup wise. To be honest, I don't wear make up most days right now, but I switched my make up bag contain and added more summery products. So when I will eventually wear something on my face, this is what I will use.

So here are my make up picks for this summer.

Warming bronzer
I picked up this Rimmel bronzer while rushing out of a store a few weeks back, because it looked pretty. I mean, look at those gold swirls. When I came back home and I swatted it, I though it was a bit orange. But the next day, I tried it on my skin and I quite like the look of it, used as a bronzer/blush combo. It adds warmth and I definitely looked more bronzed than I actually was.

Sheer pink lips
My lips don't like the sun, if I go outside in the daytime, I (sadly) try to stay away from bold, drying or high maintenance products. A tinted balm is the way to go, plus this one by L'Oréal has SPF.

Blue nails
For some reasons, no colors screams more summer to me than blue. I noticed I was gravitating toward blue polish a lot lately. The Maybelline ColorShow one is a nice color, but is not really long lasting on me. The Essie one though (in Turquoise and Calico), have lasted five full days without any chips, and two more days before I really needed to take it off. That, in my book, is a winner nail polish.

Blue eye liner
In the summer, I always say I will wear blue eyeliner, but never do. I wish this year is going to be different! This Wet and Wild blue eyeliner actually ended up in the trash, because it was completely dried up, but I got a new one, in a pencil form this time, so it will last longer. Okay, tomorrow I will do my make up with blue eyeliner, I have to, now that I added it in my summer picks!

This is it for today, I hope you enjoyed my summer picks.

Please let me know what your favorites make up products for the warmer months!

I'll see you in a few days with a new blog post!

That kind of bronzy-golden eye shadow is 100% my favorite. I could own a million of these and still want more (dramatization). I think it adds a nice pop on the eye, while still being neutral. For this look, I piled on the bronze pigment as much as I could. I also added a generous amount on my lower lash line, which I rarely do. I also added a gold shadow in the inner corner of my eye. For the rest of my face, I kept it quite simple with a subtle blush and just a clear lip balm.

One lipstick, three looks - Gendots

I never know how to start a blog post. So I end up on bloglovin' to see how other bloggers start their post. Anyone else does this? Not that I found any inspiration this time, so I'll just wing it.

I love a bold lip. But I tend to always wear my make up the same way, so I though I would switch it up!

The cat eye - One lipstick, three looks - Gendots

The cat eye
To me, this is the most classic look of the three. Usually it's the liquid liner pared with a red lip, but I think it looks as classy with the pink lip, and a little different as well.

The bronzy glow - One lipstick, three looks - Gendots

The bronzy glow
Not gonna lie, I had to cheat on this one and add lots of color in Photoshop. The camera just didn't pick the color of the bronzer as intensely as it actually was. Also, I didn't notice I got photo bombed before I edited the photo haha!

The subtle smokey eye - One lipstick, three looks - Gendots

The subtle smokey eye
I always hear that you should put the emphasis on only one part of your face. And I'm often afraid, when I wear a bold lip, to go overboard on the eye, so I usually go for a bare eye. But, it's nice to switch things up from time to time and to experiment a little. So I tried this, there is color on my lid, it's slightly smokey, and I think it works!

Which one is your favorite? How do you wear your bold lips?
10 days of lipstick

I have so many lipsticks, and guess what : I barely wear them! In the last year I had problems with my lips, as you can read here, in my lips care & story post. When I finally got my lips to their normal state, I was not used to wear bright lips anymore. So I ended up only wearing very neutral shades, or nothing at all. The fact that right now I'm staying home and barely put make up on at all did not help.

I've seen a couple of people doing a 30 days lipstick challenge. And I though it was great! But as I said, I barely go out at all, so what was the point of it? So I decided to do a 10 days challenge, over the course of one or two months (or three…).

Recent haul : Yes to tomatoes, Rimmel provocalips & scandaleyes.

It was payday.

I haven't shop anything but groceries for over a month.

I felt the need to buy stuff.

Actually, I didn't spend that much. I got these three products at the drugstore and then bought two shirts in another store.

Yes to Tomatoes clear skin oil control cleanser : I heard a lot about the Yes to… ranges. I tried the Yes to Cucumber face wipes before, it was nice, and smelled good. I think I remember someone talk about the tomato range, but I'm not sure who, when or if it really happened. I won't lie, it was an impulse buy. I haven't made any researches on this, but it was quite cheap (8$CAN) so why not?

Rimmel London Provocalips in play with fire : I heard Amelia Lilianna talk about this a couple of months ago and I knew I had to try it. I searched for it, but I couldn't find it anywhere. All drugstore I went to had a very limited amount of Rimmel products. But that day I had to go to a specific area where I don't usually go. And there was a drugstore, so, of course, I had to go in, and there it was, finally.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes in nude : I hear great things about these. And I didn't own any flesh tone eyeliner. Plus it was in sale. A match made in heaven if you ask for my opinion.

The clothing I bough I don't have any picture of, which make me think that I should really find a way to take fashion-ish photos. I got a black kimono with white flowers pattern and a shirt that didn't fit me and that I will soon exchange for something else.

It really felt therapeutic to get a couple of things for myself.

What do you get yourself when you feel the need to shop?

the green smokey eye

I wanted to try a makeup look than involved colored eye shadow, because 95% of the time, I do neutrals. The other 5% is muted purple, not that colorful either.

And what better time to try green than St-Patrick's day? Not that we are doing anything festive for that day, we will probably drink a green beer while watching TV, just because.

I have to day, I'm quite proud of the way it turned out. Not only did I included (some intense) green on my eyelid, but I made it a smokey eye, which I always have a hard time with.

green eye make up

I started by applying the Maybeline Color Tattoo in Mossy Green all over my lid. Then I added the green color from the NYX mysterious brown eyes pallet, which is quite bright. I focused mainly on the center and inner part of my eye for this color. Then I used the left color from the Rimmel Glam'eyes quad in green sapphire, applying it closes to my lash line and a little on the crease. I also used all three to define my lower lash line.

I finished it up by adding a slightly purple tone white on my inner corner and on my brow bone. Blended everything, added mascara.

And that's it! I should really try color more often.

What are your favorite eye shadow colors? Do you wear lots of color? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you!

This is the most pigmented and easy to use eyeshadow!

It is a bit weird, really watery and you have to shake it before using. Then, you just apply the tiniest bit of product on the lid. You really have to use it sparsely, or at least for everyday use. It can either look natural when using it sheer. You can also make it really in your face to make your eyes pop out when you use more of the product.

The other important point about this product is that it is moisturizing. It's part coconut water and part argan oil. If you read one of my latest post about this eye cream, you may know that I recently had really dry eyelids. So this product adds a nice amount of moisture.

I have the shade Rio De Rose Gold.

Have you tried this product? Did you come across something similar? I would really like to know!

I was going to say "It's been a while since I did a FOTD" but I realize I actually never write any of these. I was about time! [Wait, scratch that. As I'm ready to publish this I see that I actually did a FOTD back in October, so not THAT long ago. Oups.]

I though about it a couple days ago, and I always wear my make up in a similar way. And I think I should try more things. I like trying new products, but if I always wear it the same way, what's the point? I don't know if it is something I would include in my New Year resolutions, but I definitely feel the need to try different looks.

Since it's the middle of winter, I thought I would do a winter inspired look. And what looks more like winter than flushed cheeks?

I decided that Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting blush (in 230) red blush would be the centerpiece of the look, pairing it with a sheer red lipstick (L'oréal Colorriche in 179 cherry tulle), a somewhat mat base (using Tarte smooth operator amazonian clay finishing powder to mattify my face) and a simple eye (with The bodyShop Color Crush eyeshots in 201 Melt my heart & 210 Bronze bliss, a little bit of eyeliner at the base of the lashes and marcara).

I really enjoyed putting the look and this blog post together!

Do you always wear your make up like me and feel like changing it up? What new do you want to try?
