A week away - makeup bag

Gendots - A week away in my make up bag with l'Oreal, Marcelle, Josie Maran, essence, Maybeline, BECCA, Rimmel, Covergirl, the Body Shop, Lise Watier and Anastasia

The title of this post is misleading. It sounds like I'm going on holiday. I wish I was! But it's not the case at all.

We have to leave our apartment for a week or two because the bathroom is having a make over. So obviously, without the bathroom commodities, we can't stay.

We are staying at my boyfriend uncle for the week, which is just half an hour away if I'm taking the bus.

I have to come back to our apartment every day anyway because :
  1. I have to feed the cats
  2. I need a good internet connection

So I didn't need to bring that much make up with me, but still, I managed to fill this bag.

The first step of my make up routine is a primer, so I bring The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Primer. I don't love it, but it's fine and does the job on hot days.

I ended up bringing with me the base I think looks best on my skin, and it is the Lise Watier Teint Lumière in the shade 01. It is a little too light for me right now because I (kinda) tanned, but if I just add more bronzer than usual it looks fine.

For concealer, I just bring my usual duo : Rimmel Wake Me Up for the under eye and BECCA Compact Concealer.

I also bring with me this Marcelle Sun Wave Bronzing Pressed Powder in Heat Wave. It has different shades of bronze in there, the lightest being light enough to be used as a subtle highlight. But I think the main reason I chose this one is because of it's big mirror, meaning I can do my make up anywhere.

Next is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in 10 adorable. It's a perfect everyday shade that works with any look.

I also have a powder, I think it's by l'Oréal, but I can't read he packaging anymore. And let's be honest, with what is left in there, I only use it so I can finally finish it and add it to a future empty post.

For brows I'm going simple with the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It will make doing my brows much faster than the powder I used lately.

To use on the eyes, I have the really basic Maybeline Color Tattoo Leather in 80 creamy beige that will just look more put together than bare eyelid, but still look like I have nothing on. I also have the Essence Gel Eye Pencil in 06 cocoa bean if I want to add more definition. As for mascara, I am bringing a sample of the Josie Maran Black Oil mascara that is almost finished and that I want to use up.

For lips, I have two options. While both are on the subtle side they offer different things (that's my justification for bringing two). First I have the l'Oréal Color Riche Serum in S305 enlightening beige for a nude option. Then for a pop of color, I have the Covergirl LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in 215 2263 (??) it is a sheer coraly-pink that looks good for the summer.

Obviously, I will go home everyday so if I have an event (not that I will have any) where I'd like to wear a red lip, I still have access to my whole collection. But day-to-day, this is what will be on my face for the next two weeks.

I can't wait to have my new bathroom. I have so many DIY organization planned for when it's done. I might also do some sort of pamper post in it. Can you tell I'm happy I will finally be able to take an actual bath!?

What do you bring with you when you are away from home? What are your essential beauty products?

  2. I love this as a day-to-day makeup look! When I'm away from home, I generally like to keep my makeup as safe as possible with all the feel-good products.
I hope the bathroom reno went well - it sounds quite stressful/annoying to be out for a week, so I really hope it went smoothly!

  3. I'd probably bring my MUFE foundation, Rimmel powder, chocolate soliel bronzer, a highlighter, brow pencil and gel, Naked Basics palette, essence shadow primer, mascara, and black eyeliner. And half a purse full of lipsticks..! Haha... Or at least a neutral, a bright, and a dark, because I have issues :D
